Volcano Lodge & Springs

Arenal is known for its abundance of outdoor activity. Visitors to the area will enjoy soaks in one of the many hot springs, visits to the 200 ft (65 m) waterfall, and hikes within the Arenal Volcano National Park. There’s also windsurfing and fishing along Lake Arenal, and rafting down the Peñas Blancas River.
The Volcano Lodge began in 1999 as a twenty-room hotel. Since then, it has blossomed into a thriving, 70-room lodge that is equipped with a full range of amenities and services. Guests will find the Lodge’s swimming pool – which looks out at the Arenal Volcano – pleasing and refreshing, and will enjoy soaking in the nearby Jacuzzi at night. Energetic children can explore the playground, which has a slide, clubhouse and swings.
The on-site Surá Restaurant offers a fine selection of local and international dishes. Styled after traditional Costa Rican homes, this restaurant is warm and welcoming. It’s a wonderful place to spend an intimate evening or have a drink at the bar.
The rooms at the Volcano Lodge are clean and painted with warm tropical colors. Each is tastefully decorated and comes equipped with comfortable furniture and a nice range of amenities. Private hot water bathrooms are a plus, as is the cable TV and air conditioning. Many rooms have terraces that look out onto the Arenal Volcano, allowing guests to read and relax as they enjoy the hotel’s fabulous views.
