Los Laureles Hot Springs is the smallest hot spring facility in the Arenal area. A favorite of both locals and visitors alike, Las Laureles is low-key and unpretentious. It does not offer luxurious amenities, but it is both affordable and relaxing. It has a large, cool pool with a waterslide and two hot spring pools. The grounds are nicely manicured and host an assortment of tropical plants.

Las Laureles is located across the street from the Los Lagos Hotel and Resort. Cost is $12 for all day access to the facilities. There is no restaurant or bar, but guests are welcome to bring their own food or drink. There are picnic tables spread throughout the property, which makes it easy to enjoy lunch or snacks while visiting the hot springs.

Epic Journey With a Friend

At Monteverde Lodge, we really appreciated that they placed water jugs in each room and offered ice and fresh fruit for the water each evening. This would be a great idea for other accommodations - we would be less inclined to buy water in plastic bottles for the room, and it would indicate that the tap water was great to drink (if that was the case).
