Arenal Costa Rica Transportation Service Details

- We offer safe and comfortable Costa Rica Transportation to and from Arenal Volcano to all Costa Rica destinations, including by taxi, mini bus, bus, & coaster bus for larger groups.
- We are very proud to say that we operated more than 4,000 transfers since 1998 and have been 100% accident free.
- All our vehicles are recent, comfortable, air conditioned, Government Approved & Inspected, and fully insured.
- We never have had a single breakdown as all our vehicles are checked daily. In Costa Rica we have winding roads, mountains with steep hills & many unexpected potholes; a well maintain vehicle with good suspension, good brakes & good tires is not only a question of comfort, it is essential for your safety.
- All our expert drivers are carrying a cellular and pager. so they (or you) can call our office or your hotel at anytime.
- Blocking roads is a popular form of protest in Costa Rica as often there is only one possible route between 2 destinations on our limited Costa Rican roads. That never stopped us as we have vehicles on both sides and can coordinate them to meet at the road block. Do not miss your plane or waste precious vacation time, book with us with confidence.
- Every year in rainy season we have a mud slide blocking the only narrow road between Arenal and Liberia (random on other routes too); that never stopped us as we have vehicles on both sides and we use our boats on Lake Arenal to bridge the gap between them if necessary. All our boat captains are also carrying a cellular and pager.
- Because most of the drivers we work with for our Private Transfers are independent owners and are the actual owners of their vehicles, they are careful and take great care of them.
- All our expert drivers are locals, they know their routes & road conditions because they drive daily on them.
- All our Private Transfers includes 1 free hour of waiting time if you want to make some stops along the way for lunch or photos or if you have a delay. The charge for every extra hour of waiting time is $10 (for the driver and his vehicle).
- Our Costa Rica Transportation Shuttles are half rate for children under 12. Children seats are not common in Costa Rica, we suggest you bring your own for the comfort and safety of your child. All our vehicles have a sturdy roof rack; add $10 per surf board. Same for bicycles if the front wheel is removed and everything is packed in a box made as small as possible. Please mention this or any extra bulky luggage beside your normal traveling luggage so our drivers can be advised.
- All our rates are in $ US dollars and always includes tax.
- Sorry but we do not offer cutthroat rates because we do not believe in poorly maintained vehicles or underpaid and unhappy drivers. Our roads are too treacherous for that and the welfare of our guests and our own spotless reputation are simply too important to us. Some rates we offer may seem high to you but compare the rental car rates (including tax & full insurance) on the web for USA and Costa Rica by major companies like Hertz and Alamo (for example) and you will see that they charge much more for Costa Rica. The reason is that we are a smaller market so price of vehicles, parts and gas are higher here. Because our roads are so rough, the wear and tear, maintenance & insurance is higher here.
- Space is limited and routes are usually fully booked 3 days in advance, so reservations are necessary.
- It is always possible to add side trips to our Private Transfers. Send us an email with some details and we will send you a quote.
- If you plan to make a hotel reservation with Arenal.net, it is not necessary to send us a separate email for your transportation or tours questions. Just add your questions to your hotel request and we will reply all in a single email. The more information you send to us (like number of people, age of children if any, name of hotels, time, etc.) the more precise and complete will be our reply.
