Horseback ride to La Fortuna Waterfall
A horseback ride to the La Fortuna waterfall is an exciting morning or afternoon activity. As you enjoy a pleasant ride through both pastures and rainforest, keep your eyes peeled for toucans, monkeys and other creatures. The ride to the falls takes about an hour.
After this segment, you’ll hike down to the La Fortuna Waterfall, a 200-ft (65-m) spectacle of cascading rainforest water. Bring a bathing suite and you’ll be able to enjoy one of the most refreshing experiences in Costa Rica – a swim in the fresh, and somewhat chilly, emerald pool beneath the falls.
Once swims have been had, picnics have been eaten and photos have been snapped, the horseback ride will continue onto a large private farm. Here, there will be more opportunities to enjoy the scenery and wildlife that surrounds the Arenal Volcano.
We recommend that participants bring long pants, sturdy closed-toed shoes, a bathing suite, towel, sunscreen, hat and camera.
The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and departs at 8:00 AM and 1:30 PM. The price includes transportation, entrance fee and a local guide.
