Arenal Eruption, November 2006
Another series of photos from the Los Lagos Observatory. There are actually two great Observatory Points at Los Lagos, one being much closer to the base of the volcano and another at a more distant angle. The last 8 photos are taken from the observatory point further away. Once again we had to wait until about 10:00PM before the Volcano emerged from the clouds, however our patience clearly paid off as we were able to see some spectacular eruptions.

To determine the current lava viewing angle you can use our Arenal volcano map. Also on our list of Arenal hotels, be sure to click the 'lava view hotels' link there to see only those hotels with a direct lava view, as this changes depending on the volcano activity.
