Arenal Volcano May 3, 2007 from the Observatory Lodge
The following photos were taken on May 3, 2007 from the Observatory Lodge.
The Observatory Lodge is set on a ridge overlooking the south and southwest sides of Arenal. This location allows for fantastic views not only of the volcano but of Lake Arenal as well.
To determine Arenal’s current lava flow, check out our Arenal volcano map. Arenal did, however, enter into a resting phase in 2010. For the time being, no eruptions are occurring. There are a number of tours in Arenal that allow for close viewing of the Arenal volcano. These include hikes through the Arenal volcano national park and the 4-in-one Arenal tour, which includes a trip to the waterfall, a volcano hike, and a visit to one of the area’s hot springs.
