Cataratas Resort
The Cataratas Resort is in near the village of La Fortuna but still has a wonderful view of the Arenal Volcano. Beautiful, lush rainforests surround the valley of the volcano allowing for a rich variety of flora, fauna and agriculture. Though the volcano is the main attraction here visitors will also find quaint towns to explore, adventures in the rainforest such as waterfall rappelling and canopy tours. The town of La Fortuna is a small tourist village serving as a “base camp” for adventure and sightseeing activities.
Lake Arenal offers excellent wind surfing and sailing conditions as well as great fishing and trails perfect for hiking and mountain biking. Observe the rainforest from a completely different perspective as you walk along hanging bridges or venture to the Fortuna waterfall on horseback. Take a spectacular night walk to the Arenal Volcano and hot springs where it’s possible to see the volcano erupting. The Tabacon Spa and Hot Springs is a wonderful treat after a hard day of hiking and adventure.
The Cataratas Resort is a unique artistic design with casually elegant facilities. The principal entrance is an elegant mix of the Barroco in modern style. Here guests will delight in the number of activities we offer. The tiered pools with waterfall will invite you to relax along the poolside bar and Jacuzzi. Those who enjoy games can take advantage of the mini golf court surrounded by tropical rainforest, Canadian designed pool tables, and children’s playground. For a little night action come to our very own discoteque facing the waterfall and pool area.
The main restaurant serves delicious national and international cuisine and the sport’s bar offers a more casual environment. Around the pool area you’ll find a number of suites each with a balcony affording an unbelievable view of the volcano. Each room comes with AC, cable TV and private bathroom.
