These tours provide first-hand looks into the area’s ecology and the spectacular number of creatures that the rainforest protects. Arenal is also blessed with a massive lake – upon which boating, windsurfing and fishing can be done – as well as a large waterfall. Canopy tours and rafting trips are fun, and soaks in the geothermal hot springs are a fantastic way to begin or end any day.
The Hotel Arenal Green is a small, family-run hotel that’s set near the impressive La Fortunal Waterfall. Guests can walk, bike or drive to this 200-ft fall, and will enjoy exploring the hotel’s own lushly gardened grounds. The seven cabins are simple and comfortable and constructed from native wood. Each has its own patio and sitting area where guests can read, relax, or take in views of the Arenal Volcano.
